Belt Truss
It was a beautiful Saturday morning (24 June) for the first “Belt Truss” lift. The belt trusses define the perimeter of the future Exhibition Hall of the museum. The truss segment on the hook weighs 69,000 lbs. (Picture 1) and was swung to the outer reach of the 825 USt Liebherr crane, approximately 160 feet. The image below highlights more of the tremendous work by W&W | Afco Steel, the turnkey fabricator and erector of the building structural steel, and Buckner HeavyLift Cranes who are supplying crawler cranes for the project.
- W&W | Afco Steel is the largest steel fabricator and erector in the United States and completed the steel at Cowboys Stadium and Choctaw Stadium (seen in the background).
- With over 75 years of proven experience, Buckner HeavyLift Cranes is not only equipped with one of the largest crawler crane fleets in the country, but also with the brain power and cutting-edge technology to create the most efficient, safe, and successful plans for each and every project.
- Both W&W | Afco and Buckner HeavyLift Cranes are veteran friendly, proud employers of our service men and women.
