Overview/Project Accomplishments:
- Installing MEPF hanger inserts at back of house area and café/retail.
- Installing reinforcing mesh, preparing for concrete pour.
- Roof Level Star Beam Complete.
- Finished pouring concrete above admin office space.
Oculus
Featured in the progress image below is the oculus, the round opening in the museum’s Exhibition Hall. The inside radius of the oculus beam is 23’ and the total weight is approximately 12 tons or 24,000 lbs. The ‘Star’ creates the exact framing configuration for the oculus ring.
