Progress Update #56

Overview/Project Accomplishments:

• Completed Installation of the Exhibit Hall Belt Trusses and Infill Beams.
• Installing Exhibit Hall floor metal decking.
• Received the Theater glass from Germany, beginning installation.
• Spraying fireproofing on the structural columns, beams and decking throughout the Rotunda level.
• Installing priority wall framing in the Café, Institute and Administration areas.
• Installing MEPF overhead duct, electrical conduits, sprinkler pipe and storm pipes in the Institute & Admin areas.
• Installing the top sections of the spiral staircases.
• Beginning layout and excavation of the Great Hall foundation. 

NMOHM Topping Out Ceremony (Thursday, 20 July 2023)

On Thursday, 20 July 2023, the NMOHMF celebrated the Topping Out Ceremony.  This event marked a significant milestone in our journey towards completing this incredible project. 

The Topping Out Ceremony is a tradition that symbolizes the successful completion of the highest point of a structure.  It is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of all the individuals involved in making this vision a reality. 

This ceremony also served as a tribute to the resilience and determination that underpin this project.  From the early planning stages to the complex construction process, we have faced challenges and overcome obstacles together.  Through unwavering commitment and unwavering teamwork, we have persevered and reached this momentous point. 

The Topping Out signifies not only the completion of the structural framework but also represents the beginning of a new chapter. 

As we move forward from the Topping Out Ceremony, let us carry the spirit of collaboration, perseverance, and excellence in all that we do.  Together, we will continue to work diligently to ensure the successful completion of this project, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. 

It is a great day to build America’s Museum, the National Medal of Honor Museum!!!
