A tireless advocate for our treasured military veterans, Darrell’s journey in the military is noted for his multiple leadership roles served with honor and distinction. Darrell retired after 27 years of service including time as a Senior Member of the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets). During multiple combat deployments to Iraq, he was awarded four Bronze Star Medals (2003-2007), the Bronze Star Medal with Valor for heroic actions and leadership during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq (2006), the Larry Thorne Award for Best Operational Detachment in 10th Special Forces Group (2006), and a recipient of the Robert T. Frederick Award for military excellence (2007).
