FUN FACT
The Five (5) Mega Columns are wrapped in 15 mil thick vapor barrier ‘jackets.’ These ‘jackets’ allow trades to work near and around the columns overhead, while shielding from unwanted equipment fluids or red rust like structural steel color drips (caused by weather events). Protecting these prominent pieces of precast is and will continue to be a very important part of the project, with protection measures continuously evolving as the job progresses.
Casual observers may note that all the Mega Columns are uniform with their yellow ‘jackets’ EXCEPT the Navy Mega Column, identified with a blue ‘jacket.’*
*Purely coincidental, and I was assured that President & CEO Chris Cassidy was not involved! ????
