Darrell Utt contributed in numerous leadership capacities across the globe as a Senior Member of the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets). During multiple combat deployments to Iraq, he was awarded four (4) Bronze Star Medals (2003-2007), the Bronze Star Medal with Valor for heroic actions and leadership during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq (2006), the Larry Thorne Award for Best Operational Detachment in 10th Special Forces Group (2006), and a recipient of the Robert T. Frederick Award for military excellence (2007).
Following Darrell’s military service, he served as the Director of Security and Director of Operations at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. (2016-2019) and as a board-certified security consultant for the Protective Design and Security Division at Thornton Tomasetti (2019-2022).
Darrell joined the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation as their Chief of Business Operations in 2022. As a key executive, Darrell will be focused on building an organizational framework to support and synchronize all business operations to include guest engagement and guest services, human resources, facility management, security, retail, food & beverage, and IT during this exciting, formative period.
